In an ODeL model, students use digital platforms to access content, join live or recorded classes, and complete assessments. Activities can be synchronous (live sessions) or asynchronous (self‑paced work). This helps universities and TVET colleges reach more students, lower barriers to entry, and support study at scale.

Key Components of ODeL

In higher education, ODeL depends on 6 core systems working well together:
